Casa di Ringhiera

The house is conceived as a place of privileged view on the city and nature, a place of silence and emptiness from which to admire the skyline beyond a hedge. Placed on the roof of a typical “casa di ringhiera” of the late eighteenth century, in Conca del Naviglio, Milan, a long glass fits in the old tiled roof becoming a strip window with a long arbor. In this house the light and nature are the elements that define atmosphere; Based on an open plan scheme and covered with gray stone, the block of services, works as the single instrument that divides the different areas of the house.
